Labor Day Parades! Get your float onRegion 1 — Monday, September 2: Buffalo Labor Day Parade. The Buffalo Central Labor Council parade theme this year is “Honoring Our Past, Committing to Our Future.” There will be a Labor Day Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. The parade lines up at 10 a.m. at Dorrance Avenue and McKinley Parkway. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. There will be a cookout immediately following at Cazenovia Park. Registration is required. Region 7 — Monday, September 2: Massena Solidarity Parade. The Massena Solidarity Parade and Picnic will step off at 11 a.m. from Coach’s Corner and end at Springs Park, where there will be a free picnic from noon to 3 p.m. for all union members and their families. Members wishing to participate can call the Region 7 office at (315) 261-4464. 

Region 4 — Monday, September 2: New York State Fair, Syracuse. Join organized labor members as they lead a parade that steps off from the Expo Center at around 10:00 a.m. The parade route follows the perimeter of the building down Broadway, around Cayuga Avenue, and back to Iroquois. Members wishing to participate can call the Region 4 office at (315) 471-2311. 

Region 3 — Monday, September 2: Rochester Labor Day Parade. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. from the corner of East Avenue and Union Street. This year’s theme is “Fighting for Democracy.” For more information, members can call the Region 3 office at (585) 232-6980. 

Region 8 — Monday, September 2: Michael L. Burns Labor Day Celebration, Albany. The Capital District Area Labor Federation will host the Michael L. Burns Labor Day celebration from noon to 4 p.m. at the American Legion, 275 Grooms Rd., Clifton Park. Free admission. 

Saturday, September 7: New York City Labor Day Parade. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. from 44th Street and Fifth Avenue, marching north to the Grandstand at 64th Street. Note: Due to the scheduling of the PEF Convention this year (Sept. 15-18, 2024), PEF will not have a float at the parade.
