Technical Details

The pages and web-based applications hosted by the New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF) require a minimum (or higher) web browser of Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0, Mozilla Firefox 3.6, Apple Safari 4, Google Chrome 10, or any other Web browser that is fully compatible with these browsers.

If you are not sure of the version of your browser, select Help in the menu bar of your browser and choose About.

Additional Information

Some web pages and web-based applications hosted by PEF require the web browser to support Javascript and to accept cookies. By default, the major web browsers are configured to handle these requirements.

The PEF uses SSL to secure all data transmissions between your computer and our servers.

Free Third-party Readers & Viewers – Free software enabling visitors to PEF’s site to read documents formatted in different platforms (e.g., Microsoft Word [DOC], Portable Document Format [PDF], etc.).

PEF provides the following links to free third-party readers and viewers to help site visitors view certain content. Appearance on this list does not imply endorsement by the PEF of any third-party software and their are other options available that do not appear on this list.

* Microsoft does not have free Macintosh viewers for Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
