Scott Harms is an experienced leader who has helped PEF members throughout his career. Having grown up in a PEF activist family, Scott is a tireless union advocate and has had various leadership roles at PEF, including Executive Board Member, Assistant Council Leader, Steward and Convention Delegate, among others. Scott has been an attorney for more than 20 years and has a J.D. from Albany Law School and a B.B.A. in Accounting from Siena College.
Prior to becoming the Director of Organizing for PEF, Scott was an attorney at the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board who handled complex commercial and regulatory litigation. Scott also previously ran the PEF Membership Benefits Program for more than four years and is intimately familiar with all of the benefits offered through the program.
As Director of Organizing, Scott is charged with providing PEF’s elected leaders, members and staff with the resources to enhance their knowledge, skills and abilities needed to implement the member mobilization initiative and advocate to protect and enhance members’ rights and benefits.
